Community-Based Work Assessment / Experience

Community Based Work Assessments (CBWA’s) are practical, unpaid assessments arranged with regular community based employers and are structured for 18 shifts with a minimum of 15 hours per week. Our Employer partners provide a mutually benefiting opportunity for participants to explore and identify employment skills, interests and existing or potential barriers to paid employment in a realistic employment setting.

It is the goal of Steps2work to build positive relationships in the business community.  As we take the time to understand the needs of businesses, it is hoped that businesses will find it beneficial to approach us with their employment needs.

To maintain these relationships, we not only offer ongoing support during work placements, but also post-employment support should you choose to employ an individual placed by Steps2work.

All clients funded for services by Steps2work are covered by our Workers Compensation agreement with the Province of Manitoba Department of Family Services: Regulation #545/88 under Section 7 of the Workers Compensation Act.

Should you be interested in working with Step2work, or if you would like any further information about our program, please do not hesitate to contact us.

“What an amazing resource and support, those at [steps] provided for me (and many others), I felt empowered, respected, supported.”
